Professional Bio
Tyrique’s work primarily explores the existing synergy between the tradition of 20th-century Continental Philosophy (esp. existential phenomenology) and the issues of Critical Philosophy of Race. The philosophical figures central to his research are Jean-Paul Sartre and Frantz Fanon; through their work, he attempts to understand how racism and colonialism function concretely and what makes them 'systemic.' His secondary interests include 19th-century Philosophy (esp. Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel and Karl Marx).
