Professional Bio
Nelson Peralta (he/him) earned both his B.A and M.A. in Philosophy at Loyola Marymount University in 2018 and 2023, respectively. His areas of interest include Latin American & Latinx Philosophy, French Continental Philosophy, and Queer Theory. He is currently fascinated by the intersections of self-aesthetics (Michel Foucault), brown queerness (José Estaban Muñoz), and decolonial feminisms (María Lugones), particularly in terms of thinking and feeling anew philosophically. At heart, Nelson considers himself a social and decolonial epistemologist with a penchant for pop music and performance. He is thrilled to continue his philosophical and pedagogical development at Penn State.
