Jamellah Sweeting completed her BA in Philosophy and Religious Studies at Pace University in December 2021. Her philosophical and academic interests include queer studies, afro-pessimism, affect theory, and psychoanalysis. Jamellah received the Pace University Provost Summer Research Award in 2020, through which she researched and wrote a paper on critical theory and cultural studies. She has served Pace University through several leadership positions, including as both the President and Treasurer of the Philosophy Club and as Editor of the Think-Being Zine. She also has extensive volunteer experience with multiple organizations including New York Cares, M.O.M.S. (Mothers of Murdered Sons and Daughters), JumpStart Kids First, and the Right to the City Alliance.
