Professional Bio
Cole C. De Jager is a PhD candidate (ABD) in Philosophy at Pennsylvania State University. His research interests are in social, moral, and political philosophy, Kant and post-Kantian philosophy (esp. Hegel), and constitutional theory. At the core of his work is the question of positive freedom and its social and material conditions of possibility in the face of the seeming ubiquity of domination and alienation. He is a recipient of a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada doctoral fellowship (2025-2027) and is currently a Sparks Fellow at Penn State (2025-2026). In 2026, he will be a visiting doctoral student at the Freie Universität Berlin.
