Murdock as Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow 2020-21

The Philosophy Department is pleased to announce that Professor Esme Murdock, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at San Diego State University, will join us for the 2020-21 academic year as our Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow. Professor Murdock received her PhD in Philosophy from Michigan State University in 2016. Her work focuses in the areas of environmental philosophy and environmental ethics and social and political philosophy with attention on environmental justice, philosophies of race and gender, and settler colonial theory. She will be working on a book project entitled Blood, Bone, and Land: Black Environmental Identities, Heritages, and Histories in Coastal South Carolina. We look forward to welcoming Professor Murdock to Penn State in August.
