Mark Sentesy Joins Philosophy Faculty
The philosophy department is delighted to announce that Mark Sentesy will join its faculty as Assistant Professor of Philosophy in fall 2014. Before coming to Penn State, Professor Sentesy received his PhD in philosophy from Boston College and also studied at the University of Chicago, KU Leuven, and Carleton University. Professor Sentesy specializes in ancient philosophy and also works in the areas of ethics, environmental philosophy, modern epistemology and science, and 19th and early 20th century European philosophy. His current research includes an investigation into what is at stake for ontology in the question of the multiplicity of being, particularly through an examination of Parmenides, Plato’s Parmenides and Sophist, and Aristotle’s Physics.
