Former Penn State Philosophy Major, Harrison Brennan, Credits His Philosophy Professors for His Current Success
A story on Harrison Brennan, a 2022 alumnus who graduated with degrees in Philosophy, Economics, International Politics, and Asian Studies, was recently published. Since graduating, Harrison has been pursuing a doctorate in philosophy at DePaul University in Chicago. Harrison said writing an undergraduate thesis as a Paterno Fellow and Schreyer Scholar prepared him for writing a dissertation in graduate school. After graduating with his doctorate, Brennan hopes to become a professor at a research university.
“The professors at Penn State and in the College of the Liberal Arts wanted me to succeed. They were so helpful and so incredible, and I’m still really, really grateful for all the support and the amazing philosophy professors I had,” Brennan said. “They inspired me to do what I’m doing now, and I don’t think I would be doing it if it weren’t for them. I want to carry that legacy forward and make an impact on my future students just like these faculty did for me.”
