Désirée Lim Named “The Catherine Shultz Rein Early Career Professor”

Désirée Lim is an assistant professor in the Philosophy Department. She was named “The Catherine Shultz Rein Early Career Professor” at the College of Liberal Arts faculty awards ceremony on February 15, 2023.

Désirée completed her Ph.D. at King’s College London. Professor Lim’s primary research interests lie in contemporary political philosophy, with a special focus on the concept of social equality. She has a book forthcoming with Oxford University Press called Immigration and Social Equality. Professor Lim is also a research associate in the Rock Ethics Institute where she co-directs initiatives on the “Ethics of Immigration Enforcement” and “Human Rights and Forced Migration.” In the short time she has been here, Désirée Lim has become an invaluable member of the Philosophy Department.
