Sad News about Our Friend, Professor Thomas Nenon

Professor Tom Nenon, University of Memphis, passed away the morning of April 4, 2025, at the age of 73. He was a dear friend to many of us here in the Penn State Philosophy Department: Len, Robert, Ted, Sarah, Kris, and Jasmine.
Selflessly, Tom helped us advance our careers. He had boundless energy, and was a devoted soccer player. Professor Nenon held many administrative positions at the University of Memphis: Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Interim Provost, Vice Provost, and Provost.
Professor Nenon was a world-renowned scholar of phenomenology and in particular Husserl’s phenomenology. We will miss his support and guidance, but we will really miss his friendship. We miss him already.
