Uygar Abaci to join Philosophy faculty as Assistant Professor

The Philosophy Department is pleased to announce that Uygar Abaci will be joining the faculty as an Assistant Professor. Uygar works in the areas of Kant’s theoretical philosophy, early modern philosophy, metaphysics, modal theory, philosophy of religion and aesthetics. He received his MA from the Middlesex University, London and his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to Penn State, Uygar has taught at the University of British Columbia and the University of Richmond. Uygar has published numerous articles on Kant’s metaphysics and aesthetics in journals like the British Journal for the History of Philosophy, Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism, European Journal of Philosophy, Kantian Review, as well as forthcoming articles in the Journal of the History of Philosophy, and in the Oxford University Press volume On the Sensible and Intelligible Worlds: New Essays on Kant’s Metaphysics and Epistemology. Uygar also has an ongoing book project focusing on Kant’s theory of modality.
