  Current Research:
  • My current research works to develop a hybrid ethical philosophy based upon philosophical dialogue between North American pragmatisms and Latin American philosophies of liberation. Broadly speaking, both philosophical traditions ground their ethical reflections upon an understanding of individuals who live, move, and have their being in community, just as both traditions believe that ethics should be at the heart of a philosophy that is practically committed to intelligently transforming our individual and communal lives. I argue that such an ethics must take the experiences of those who are currently most excluded from full participation in any given socio-economic or political community as a fundamental point of departure for re-thinking our ethical responsibilities, democratic community life, and philosophical task in the present age.
