Cynthia Willet at Emory University

Cynthia WillettProfessor Cynthia Willet is Professor of Philosophy in the Philosophy department at Emory University. She earned her Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University in 1988. In 2006 she proposed and established the Institute for the History of Philosophy at Emory. Her research interests are in political ethics, moral and political philosophy, race and gender studies, philosophy and literature, new critical theory, and American social thought. Some of her books include: Irony in the Age of Empire; The Soul of Justice: Social Bonds and Racial Hubris; and Maternal Ethics and Other Slave Moralities.
